I'm a 24 year old bug enthusiast from WV. I've always adored insects, and have notebooks full of my studies of everything from June bugs to wooly aphids to cecropia moths that I started at age 5. I'm a little quirky, nerdy and boring, spending my time studying nature and watching cartoons... but I look forward to meeting new people here and learning more about my fave critters! :)

~Updated: Oct. 4~
MY ROACHES:
blaberus giganteus (Giant Cave Cockroach) x1
gromphadorhina portentosa (Madagascan Hissing Cockroach) x12
wild-caught pycnoscelus surinamensis (Surinam Cockroach) x3
wild-caught eurycotis floridana (Skunk Cockroach) x30 + 6 eggs
wild-caught periplaneta australasiae (Australian Cockroach) x20 + 10+ eggs
wild-caught blatta orientalis (oriental roach) x8 +2 eggs
wild-caught blattella vaga (?) x2
neostylopyga rhombifolia (Harlequin Cockroach) x30 + 1 egg

+ 1 giant african millipede, dozens of milkweed bugs, several flat millipedes, 2 fiddler crabs, 2 wolf spiders, 2 Florida leatherleafs, 30+ boxelder bugs, & dozens more wild-caught buggies.

I also have 1 tiger salamander, 4 cats, 4 rats, 2 toads and 1 fence lizard.

I also am expecting 4 baby pterinochilus murinus (Usambara baboon tarantulas aka OBTs) and a brachypelma albopilosum (Honduran curly hair tarantula) next week :D

Roaches, roaches, and more roaches!!! Of any sort. I can't get enough of them. I'd also love to find a female giant african millipede for my male as well as other millis.

My dream is to go to school for Entomology, a career that has been my dream since childhood. If not that, I at least want to be a teacher, so I have the opportunity to also educate kids about bugs. Ethnoentomology in particular fascinates me as I think it's important to educate people about how important insects are to people in every culture.

The outdoors, camping, fishing, swimming, hiking, guitar, drawing, clowning... I also love cartoons from the 80's and from early Nickelodeon. I collect 80's My Little Pony, socks, eyeballs, marionettes, clowns, vintage prosthetics, J-horror and b-movies. I love Pee-Wee Herman WAY more than I should.

"Wow, so pretty.  Eek!  They can climb glass?"

OH yeah. They stick to it like glue, and they're one of the speediest roaches I've had - feeding time is fun! :P

I would also love to find a vinegaroon in the wild. I would just photograph it and let it go. Mine came to me as a tiny baby. I have a friend who has breed them twice now. Mine is a fun and interesting little invert. He/She is suprisingly fast when it is chasing down a cricket.
Living in Texas I do not live far from where I could find some and have another friend who has told me where to find them. Just a matter of making time to go do it.
