I am a father, husband and a Ecology geek.
I like to know about the tree that the catepillar is munching on and about the wasp laying an egg on the catepillar and about the lizard that just ate the wasp and about the shrike that just ate the lizard and the falcon that ate the shrike and why their numbers are declining.......

Box Turtles-(2)Ornate, (1)Male Three-toed
Russian Tortoise girl, looking for love

Goliaths Beetles and other large beetles

I have been into creepies and crawlies since I was a kid, so I would say 35 years of interest. My Grandma would take me into Cal Poly's TextBook store and let me pick out college level Entomology books when I was 9 years old. That was one fun Grandma. I started out making the traditional pinned collection (I do have a very good one), now I am one for observing and maybe rearing when possible.

My daughter and I are into Herps and Archnids mainly. She is 7 years old and completely into the creepies and crawlies (that's my girl!!!)
I am also involved in cichlids (dwarf south american and west african)

thanks for the info,  I will do my best.  I'm totally with you regarding the fear thing.  My wife is pretty much good around anything but anyone else in my or her family is suspect.

Any ideas you might have on how to get my new son into critters please let me know.  I have a 1 year old.  He likes dogs but I must change that.  How are uromastyx, are they easy to keep?
