i thought it might be nice to have a thread to tell about any insectgeeks features/tips/tricks/howtos that we might have found.

for instance... did you know that if someone has uploaded a large profile image that when you click on the small profile image in their profile you can see a full size version?

for instance, look at my profile http://www.insectgeeks.com/cacoseraph (hold shift while you click to open it in a new window) and click on my profile picture (headshot w/ a centipede on my nose) and you can see the fullsize version of that picture.

cool little feature.... not everyone has a fullsize picture hiding in there though

There are MANY features now available to enthusiasts here at insectgeeks. If you haven't really browsed the site, you most likely don't know what you're missing.

EVENTS CALENDAR

If you click on the EVENTS link, you'll see a Calendar tab. This makes it very easy to see/browse any upcoming (or past) events dates and info. Anybody can post here as well. So if you know of any events, be it a show/fair or public get-together, be sure to post it. What's very cool about this feature is that you can RSVP and see who will be attending the event!

CLICKABLE LINKS

If you want to create a clickable link (without having to hold shift to open up in a new window) within emails, forum topics, blogs, etc. simple use the helping tools located directly above the message field. The clickable link tool is marked as the "chain" icon. First highlight the text that you want clickable and then click the link tool. Type in the full URL (including the http://) that you want the link to take the person to and then choose whether you want the link to open into a new window or the same from the Target field. Then just click Insert.

For the love of the hobby...

i just found out you can click on pics in the gallery and they will open a sort of browsing window if they are larger than the gallery can show. it's pretty cool

for example click on my ice centipede's picture to see what i mean

Is there a way to sort the forum threads/posts by date? It would be nice to see all the most recent responses, but I haven't figured out how to do that yet.
