My name is Michael, I live in Saint Paul, (though the love of my life will always be Santa Fe). I design and build telescopes, and am way into music (pretty much every kind -- Bach to Pink Floyd -- and play alto sax). Also love good theatre and movies, caving, rock climbing, being under a street-light and staring straight up into the snow at night (try it!), reading and writing, my computer (esp. HD video production, image processing and programming), and most importantly, chilling with friends.
There's probably been nothing I've loved more since I was about 12 than raising Giant Silkmoths!
...(though slings are climbing the charts)
MY INVERTS
An Emperor Scorpion, Vader (just passed, after a long life)
(R.I.P.)
Attacus atlas
Argema mittrei
And a first for me, slings...15 A.versicolors ... What a blast!! (Now have traded down to 3!)
Moths and Butterflies, Tarantulas, Telescope design (and using them, from a mountaintop, to explore our infinite, intimate backyard!), pets that freak out my friends (at least at first, till I get them to hold them!), music, hiking at night, computers, inventing, skiing, reading and writing, and outdoor adventure.
I'll prolly put it back up when I have happier things to write about.
Nice! I've become the "family cook." I'm pretty darn good if I do say so myself. No complaints the passed couple of years I've been doing it.
Hahaha, yeah... but come on, best deals EVER. No, seriously, even if I had money there's nothing I want and certainly no deal is good enough to make me want to go out and get trampled... :P

Yeah, I did notice it was down, and I've missed reading about how you're doing!!
Yeah, had a good day yesterday -- my mom's an incredible cook! (as opposed to me, the least domesticated person this side of the Milky Way! LOL )
Meh. I bet you've seen I've taken the website down. I'm pretty stressed out right now but I'm taking steps needed to move myself in the right direction.
How's life on your end? Have a good holiday? Not braving any Black Friday shopping today? ;)

And pardon my rudeness -- how's your life been going?
Just though I'd let everyone know -- I neeeded some fresh air in here so I put a fan in the window, happened to be fairly near the Ts. Very interesting, every single one (all arboreals) came up and crawled across the mesh which covers the tops of the housings -- not just the Avics, but also the Pokies etc. So keep in mind, ventilation is very important! You'll often hear that dehydration is the main cause of death for Ts, this seems to contradict that, as I've read elsewhere.
As far as humidity, yes they do need a damp substrate and some misting, but up in the trees where they live, the humidity isn't nearly what it is closer to the ground. (I'd say that they mostly need to be moist as they moult.)
Just my observations -- other than a 1 1/2 inch amazonica which wasn't doing so well when I got it, haven't lost a single T (even out of 15 Avics which I got as 1/2 inch slings), as I have always had a lot of ventilation.
